刘中民,男,汉族,1964年生于河南省。理学博士,研究员,博士生导师,中国工程院院士,全国政协第十四届委员会常务委员,辽宁省政协第十三届委员会副主席,民盟辽宁省第十五届委员会主任委员。现任中国科学院大连化学物理研究所所长、低碳催化技术国家工程研究中心主任、国家能源低碳催化与工程研发中心主任。

刘中民长期从事应用催化研究。作为技术总负责人合作完成了多项创新成果并实现产业化。完成了世界首次甲醇制烯烃(DMTO)技术工业性试验及首次工业化,DMTO技术已实现技术实施许可2160万吨烯烃/年,已投产超过1000万吨烯烃/年;完成了世界首套10万吨/年煤基乙醇(DMTE)工业示范项目,DMTE技术已实现技术实施许可395万吨/年,引领了我国新兴煤制大宗化学品和清洁燃料产业的发展。

刘中民荣获国家技术发明一等奖等十余项省部级以上科技奖励,何梁何利基金科学与技术创新奖等多项个人科技奖励,是国家五一劳动奖章获得者,新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选。他领导的研究集体获得中国科学院杰出成就奖,甲醇制烯烃国家工程实验室入选国家创新人才推进计划重点领域创新团队。
